How to Play Command an Army: Controls, Classes and Your First Battle

Getting Started: Character and Class

Character creation is quick: choose male or female, then pick a class. Day one offers at least two - Hammer, which trades movement speed for staying power, and Assassin, which moves noticeably faster.

Your class does not replace your army; it is your own body on the battlefield. You still spawn and command troops around yourself.

The Four Troop Orders

Everything your army does runs through four orders: Follow me, Hold position, Attack, and Rush them. Hold position anchors troops where they stand - your default for defending. Attack pushes the line forward. Follow me stacks units on you for a focused push, and Rush them commits everything at once.

The most common day-one mistake: issuing Attack and never taking it back. A line that keeps walking forward walks into enemy archers alone.

Spawning Units and the Star Limit

During the tutorial you spawn your first units (a knight) and learn that every unit costs stars. Early on you have five total stars for your loadout - the units guide breaks down what fits.

The star cap appears to grow as you level, but this is not confirmed yet. Plan around five.

Winning: Base Capture

Matches are won by capturing the enemy base, not by kills. A team that trades kills but loses its base still loses. Keep one eye on the minimap at all times - fast units like the scout rider can flip a game while both armies are busy mid-map.

Progression: Spins and Robux

The game includes a spin/gacha mechanic for rewards; spending 100 Robux skips the spin animation. It does not affect combat power, so new players lose nothing by ignoring it.
